Go deep. Aquatic Assault is a Blue-Purple starter that fights from under the waves, built around the Marine trait: keep several amphibious units on the board and they get tougher to shift and nastier to face. Char’s Z’Gok leads the charge, with Char himself along for the ride, backed by waterborne machines from right across the Gundam timeline. It’s a solid pick for one-on-one games, and it really comes into its own in multiplayer, where that defensive wall starts annoying everyone at the table.

What’s in the box

1 ready-to-play 50-card deck
10 Resource cards
4 Token cards
Paper damage counter
Rules and playsheet
1 Bonus Pack containing a deluxe version of one of the deck’s 16 cards

Best for

Players who like a patient, board-building game plan with plenty of defence
Battle Royale and 2v2 nights, with lots of multiplayer-friendly effects
Fans of Char’s Z’Gok, plus amphibious suits from Unicorn, Gundam X, Turn A and SEED

Open it, shuffle, play. No deckbuilding homework required. Once you’ve worked out which amphibians earn their keep, start tuning it with boosters.
