The darker partner in Britain’s maritime camouflage. RAF Extra Dark Sea Grey featured in the WWII Temperate Sea Scheme on Fleet Air Arm and Coastal Command aircraft, then went on to serve as an upper-surface colour on FAA machines right up to the early 1980s. A long-serving grey that spans piston biplanes to Cold War jets.

Best for

  • Temperate Sea Scheme upper surfaces, 193945
  • Fleet Air Arm aircraft into the early 1980s
  • RAF Coastal Command machines to 1947

It’s the anchor tone in the maritime scheme lay it first, then bring in Dark Slate Grey for the disruptive pattern on top.

The dark heart of the maritime scheme. Pair it with Dark Slate Grey from the AK Real Colors range.
