Magnus the Red 1 is the darkest tone of the Magnus the Red ladder: a deep wine. Tone Pro gives you 30 colours in five numbered tones (1 darkest, 5 lightest), so shading and highlighting is just counting up or down.

The Magnus the Red ladder

  • Magnus the Red 1 darkest (this pot)
  • Magnus the Red 2 dark
  • Magnus the Red 3 midtone
  • Magnus the Red 4 light
  • Magnus the Red 5 lightest

Best for

  • Deep shadows and recess shading
  • Deep crimson armour
  • Velvet, robes and rich cloth

Covers from the first coat and handles basecoats, layers, glazing and drybrushing. Mix with Tone Pro Shading Medium for a glaze or Blending Medium for smoother blends. Read our Warhammer Tone Pro launch guide for the full story.

Browse all 30 colours and 150 tones in our Warhammer Tone Pro paints collection. Magnus the Red 1 also works nicely alongside Carmine Blades 1 and Hive Fleet Purple 1.
